The principality of Andorra is attractive both in summer and in winter. Snow covered resorts turn into territories for walking and hiking, and the beauty of ancient small towns can be appreciated any time of year.
The trip to Andorra from Barcelona and other cities of Spain usually leads to the capital of the principality – Andorra La Vella, where we would like to invite you for great views and purchases. Along the way you can enjoy the beauty of the Pyrenees – you'll see snow-covered hills and green valleys, inanimate rocks and populated mountain villages. Arriving in the capital, we shall visit the old part of the city. Founded in the 9th century, Andorra La Vella is rich in attractions. Usually people single out only the St. Stephen's Church built in the 12th century, parliament building Casa de La Vall built in the 16th century, and a few other old buildings. But in reality, the entire Old Quarter is beautiful and interesting – its ancient streets seem to invite you for a walk, and its small area allows you to see all of it in one day.
After seeing the historical center, you get some free time. You can take a walk, visit some museums, galleries or shops to your liking, and enjoy the mountain air and great meals in the numerous hospitable restaurants of the capital.
St. Stephen's Church (Sant Esteve) Simple outside, but unbelievably beautiful inside, this church preserved its monumental ancient look even after the reconstruction and is free to visit.
Casa de La Vall The building of the General Council of Andorra was built in the XVI century by the aristocratic family Busquets and for a long time was the family home, and now it houses an interesting museum.
